From the prewar era to the mid fifties, brightwork became a focal point in car design with beautiful sculptural grills and bumpers, side spears, stylish add-0ns and of course, the hood ornament. It seems that these elements would define the car's aesthetics. Even GM's entry level Chevrolet got this luxe treatment with this 1941 Special Deluxe convertible as an example. From the nose to the winged rear bumper, there's so much detailing to each piece.
