Called DM to order the 1948 Buick and was told...........
The lady in customer service told me she has no listing or record of a 1948 Buick so I couldn't order one. She asked me where I learned about a 1948 Buick and I told her Die Cast Zone. Her response was....."that's not our web-site so I can't help you". Check back with us in a couple of months" Couple of months.....that's not acceptable, I told my wife she could give me this Buick for Christmas and she said go ahead and order it.
It's the luck of the draw on which customer rep you get.
I just called DM to ship back my Curly Flamed Ford and asked about the '48 Buick, she took my order. All reps are not created equal, but most are very knowledgable and helpful. I don't know if it matters, I always call 1-800-243-4664.
I just ordered.
Just ordered mine at 3:52 PM. Called 1-800-332-6468. No problem they knew the model right away. Should ship in mid November.
I just ordered the 1948 Roadmaster and delivery is late November.
I am glad I am not the only one having problems trying to get along with Danbury's CS Reps
I ordered it about 4:30pm today. She told me it was due for release in Nov.
BUICK 1948
I ordered this model to D.M, and the answer is that I have some month to wait...
Could you get your wife to order one for me too????
Ordering from DM if you are not in the 48 states.
I don't know if this phone # will help you in the future but you might try it. I live in Canada but DM has my US mailing address I ship 'new' models to and then I pick them up on visits to the states in Dec. & the summer. If I direct ship to Canada I must pay large import taxes on my end here in Canada. I tried to order the 1948 Buick Friday night after standard business hours. I was so hot for the Buick I even decided to place an order for the 1956 Desoto Sportsman and have them both shipped to me in Canada which is the first time I wanted a new model shipped to my Canada address (had to have that Buick and heck with the import taxes). I then found out I was unable to place an order to be shipped outside the US 48 states except when I ordered during DM standard customer serivce hours Monday-Friday, business hours. However, last Friday night the customer service representitive gave me the phone # 1-800-332-6468, which is different from their cat. 800 number. This afternoon I called that number, the CS person knew of the 1948 Buick, and he even asked if I wanted it shipped to Canada as that is my credit card number billing address they have on file. He also had my state side shipping address on file. Total time to order was about one minute. Anyway my heart had calmed down since last Friday and I only had the 1948 Buick shipped to my state address where I will pick up next December because if delivery runs late I might be in the US when it arrives in Canada. So in the future try calling the number listed above, Monday - Friday for a customer service person that can process an order for models regardless where you want it shipped. Also, if you are shipping outside of the lower 48 states, ask the DM customer service person to add to you account information, "model must be re-inspected before shipping". Even if I have a model shipped to my US address DM understands I would have to return it from Canada and then have a replacement shipped back to me in Canada which is just extra time and expenses for all concerned. DM has the best customer service and I have been calling in my orders for a few years now. Hope this information helps you in the future.
Was able to order the 1948 Buick.........
I got a customer service rep that would take my order. Delivery date.....she couldn't give me a date.
