Car show PIC of the day ... Wednesday 1958 DeSoto Adventurer cv with F.I.

DM has measured and photographed this car according to the owner. Hopefully we'll see this baby in 1:24 some day.

Appears they did away with the UGLY gold wheels for the ’58. I love this one.

I hope we get it. And hope to that the owner isn't just spreading tales.

I always get a kick out of the stories that come out of 1.1 car owners. Some will say anything to keep attention on their cars.

But if it is true and DM has looked at his car, then we will be the winners, becasue that is one beautiful car!

Great pix of a very rare car, Doug. Probably the only running and completely restored ........

feulie '58 Desoto in the world. I spoke at length with the owner at the first Hemmings' Concours back in 2007 and he told a great story of how he re-united the correct, original F.I. unit with the car after they had been separated for many years. In this painstaking restoration he also took the trouble to create and install modern, solid state electronics into the original control boxes for the F.I. so the car would run reliably. This F.I. system was brought to market prematurely, and never worked properly. The few that were sold were recalled and swapped out with conventional carbs, making this a unique and incredibly valuable car.

details

Douglas, like that you get the details of the car, such as the emblems and name on the side. I try and get shots like that myself. Keep up the good work!!!

More pics of the same DeSoto...*8 PICS*...

This car sold about a year ago for $318,000.00 (I hear). If so, vastly undervalued. Jay Engle has posted on DiecastRamblings.com that since the owner violated DM's confidentiality agreement, the model will not be made.

Jay says it won't be built by DM--owner violated the confidentiality agreement? Oh no!
