Today at 10 degrees Fahrenheit, I’d go for the Mercedes, but in sunny warmer times, the XK120 would always be my choice. I have driven both and found the 300SL a bit clunky to drive, especially in traffic. Mind you, that four speed transmission in the Jaguar was not perfect ever. Both cars are icons.
