@donderbeestje its a superb model, one of the best, very highly detailed. Although frustrating that the doors cannot be opened to get a better view of the interior. Lu has comparison pics of the green and red in the Unique post which show a number of differences between the 2.
Thank you. The Motorwagen is made by Rio and the Motorkutsche made by Danhausen in the 80s with nice boxes because of 100 years Mercedes-Daimler. The red car beside the wooden RR is indeed a red Stutz Bearcat. And to be honest i wrecked the base of the Alfa out of frustration because of the idiotic screws Hachette uses for it's models. 😞 After that i bought 2 triangle screwdrivers especially for Hachette and they work perfectly 😁
@chav I actually bought it soon after you alerted us to it a few months back Chav. Its a great model.
Credit goes to Lu, he posted the first pictures here, and Dan Duma who first posted a picture of the prototype probably 2 years ago.
Nice model, however, all models have design related error. The rearview mirrors are incorrectly mounted too far back on the spare wheels, and not on top of the "leather" strap. The photo etched strip representing a leather strap underneath the mirror should've been made with an opening allowing the mirror pin to go through. I corrected the issue on mine, but the repair wasn't trivial as it involved filling the hole underneath the mirror and recreating the midline blue strip. Unfortunately, I did not take pictures before the repair, I can only show "after" pictures.
I posted this photo sometime back, but since some are sharing their cars and display cases, I'm sharing it again. My 1:24's are all in their own individual plastic model case and then stacked on my wood cabinets that were made exclusively for the cars. I have a row of 1:18 cars going across the top of the shelves and also four others on a separate cabinet in my car room.
@chav Yes Chav, that annoys me too. I actually emailed Esval about it. Not that anything could be changed but just to let them know. If u get a chance I'd really like to see your repair work.
The mirrors are still not in perfect position (since the straps were not in perfect position), but this was the "minimally invasive procedure". The hole in the wheel is pretty much invisible, the blue strips are decals, so I had to use white and blue paint covered with something shiny to match the finish of the decals ... I either used Tamyia clear coat or UV resin ... don't remember.
