Ok, here it comes-the last entry for "New Model Week" It is quite late today- as I said earlier, stuff got in the way again. So with that, I thought I'd make today's post kind of an event. A photo exposition of this extremely nice model from Franklin Mint. I hope it was worth the wait and you enjoy it. Thanks for looking.
NEW MODEL WEEK - THE EVENT!
1st back in 1998, the Franklin Mint issued this beautiful model of a classic Packard model. It was an impressive model and quickly became a favorite of mine. The Packard cars of the late 30s and 40s have always mystified me-they are some of the most beautiful cars built during this era. So for me, this model was a must have and is one that I have always been drawn too.

here's a couple 1:1 examples of this beautiful car...
then in 2000, the D4C chose this model as their Limited Edition Club Car-LECC II. The 2nd example of this exclusive series was a beautiful model choice.
and now the latest of these gems... this is from 2006 - I've been looking for one of these for sometime. I missed it when originally issued (not sure how) and so late in 2019, I came across one at a good price compared to the ones I'd lost bidding to. I tried again, and this time... SUCCESS!

What a wonderful display of a fine Packard model John. Great post. Nice story too. Thank you.
"Cars That Made America" has an episode on Packard's fall from grace after WWII. High-quality cars, and and story, but they just didn't keep up with the market demands.
Great pictures and lots of work... "Thanks"!
Great pics. The original issue is classic, the Club Car in Miami Sand, that's a story for another time, the 2006 issue, success after a long hard struggle.
