A good year, 1959. Good for long cars and tail fins!
Great pics John!
One of my favorite years for General Motors styling. Three of my favorite Danbury Mint models. Always thought it would have been nice if we'd have been able to get the Oldsmobile and the Buick to make this line-up complete. But alas, we know the end of die-cast came before that wish could be fulfilled. NICE PHOTOS JOHN!

The only GM 1959 models I have are DM Cadillacs, of which I have five: the Laurel Pink and Seminole Red convertibles, the Vegas Turquoise Coupe de Ville, the Persian Sand Eldorado Biarritz and the Ebony Eldorado Seville.
Nice photos, I’m glad I got the Pontiac when I did instead of waiting for a hardtop that never came.

Love the pictures and content John. The Impala is my favorite of this group but the Buick was my favorite 59 GM car.
When did DM stop making these cars?
Ed, I am not George, but I hope I can answer your question.
DM issued the '59 Cadillac in 6/2009, it was a Limited Edition-probably didn't last long. I don't believe they made very many-it is rare now and hard to find.
The Impala was issued in 4/2009, it is also a Limited Edition, mine is #572 of 5000. I know this one didn't last real long either, I tried to order another about 8 or 9 months later and was unable to.
The Pontiac was issued 09/2011, it was a Standard Edition, no quantity was ever published, but again I am betting it was very limited, They are also very rare and hard-to-find.
Danbury Mint ceased complete production of their 1:24 scale models with the release of a 1935 Ford 3-Window Coupe, that was issued 03/2014.
Hope lived for awhile that they would start up again, but it was soon obvious that would never happen. Now 7-years later, my opinion is that it will not ever.
I hope this answered your question.

John, THANK YOU for answering the questions. Ironically I was recalling just yesterday to a friend that Danbury Mint hadn't given us any new models (1:24 scale) since 2014. We had been talking about the cars I've added to my collection in in the last few years since he'd been over to our house. At first he didn't understand how I could be adding cars if they no longer produced new ones, so I told him that I've been picking up ones I missed or still wanted on the secondary market.

I was particularly saddened when I found out that the next DM model planned was the 1953 Ford 2drht. A terrible shame DM didn't survive.
3 beauties. I passed on the Pontiac convertible, I was hoping for the 2-dr hardtop. It's my understanding the hardtop was about to be released when the plug was pulled on 1:24s.
Great pics as usual.
