A slightly different presentation of a Danbury Mint favorite of mine. These photos have been sitting in a file for several years now-I wasn't thrilled with how they turned out. So now, with a bit of extra processing, here they are.

I have this model and I like it. But I wouldn't say I love it. I've always felt the ride-height on the front fenders was too high and it really bothers me that the hubcaps are not shiny. I think DM's later repaint of this model in Two-Tone Blue is a much better version. The issues aside from this White version, I'd not part with it though. And hey John, your photos look awesome! Great job!

I'm with George on this one.

This repaint from DM of their '60 Chevy is a favorite of mine. The front ride-height seems to be better and hubcaps are shiny. The Two-tone Blue is stunning!

The height is too high in the front, I believe it can be modified. I am not sure what has always fascinated me about this model-but I do love it. I actually have three of them in my collection-funny, the ride-height is different on each one.
The wheel covers don't bother me, I like them. I have seen a set on a 1:1 a few years ago that looked very similar. Although they may have had a slightly shinier appearance.

We do agree the White version is a nice Chevy. I would for sure be disappointed if I didn't have it on my shelf.
For me though, ride-height is very important. On FM's '63 Chevy's, they (in my opinion) are the worst. I have them, but I keep them hidden in the back of my shelves because the front ends are just way too high. It distracts from an otherwise nice model.
It's funny because all of today's cars have cut out fenders that expose entire tires and even some of the underneath of the cars. I've never been a fan of looking at exposed wheel-wells. I like fenders like the old cars that cover usually have the tires or more.

John, I really enjoy looking at your 1/24 scale model photos from Danbury Mint. These models are very nice, and I did not realize DM made that many. I was likely too busy buying diecast airplanes and model train stuff (including 1/64 scale cars and trucks) when they were available to have thought about buying some.

Great pictures, John..
ive got this one too and the DM hardtop plus the red, white and blue versions from Franklin.
Good grief! I’ve got 5 1960 Impalas!

I am not sure how many different models DM issued, I am guessing it was a lot. I have 429 in my collection. If you consider some of my exact duplicates, it is probably about 420 different models. Although some of those are the same model in different colors.

One can never have enough 1960 Impala models. LOL! I also have the red conv, blue & white hdtps from FM. The DM versions include the white & blue convs, the copper htdtp as well as the green low rider hdtp and the orange custom rod. All very nice.

Okay, so you made me count my '60 Chevy's. I have three convertibles, the red one from Franklin, the white one and blue one from Danbury, and the copper hardtop from Danbury. So that's four total.
