Ugly nose but a very catchy colour and a very collectible car today.

@david-green

I agree with your comment about the nose.  I have never seen a real one of these.  I wonder if they sold many of them?

They made just over 580 of them. It is one those cars that makes you wonder, "What were they thinking?" but I love them all the same. I have been fortunate enough to see four of them. One is in the Studebaker Museum, one is in the Gilmore Museum and I have seen two in "the wild"

They are always a fantastic sight.

Near my house as a teen was a real gear head with a Golden Hawk. He replaced the bulky deck lid with the smooth, low slung one from a '53 (most all body panels were interchangeable from '53 to '63) and applied the de rigueur 14 layers of Candy Apple Red with white top and side inserts. His 283 V8 was Paxton supercharged and from the sound, he probably used glass-packs to replace the mufflers. I just though it was the coolest ride around.

This is one I don't have, but would like to have it.  Do have to say though, that the grille on this car gets my vote for the most "Frog" looking grille there ever was.  That along with the rest of the styling remind be of a Frog.  Not my favorite styling, but a unique car I'd like to have on my self.

I was just going to say that it looks like Packard borrowed a few styling cues from Studebaker on this one.
