Here's one I meant to include in '30s WEEK" - I did some rework on the photos and I didn't get them finished in time.
This is a unique model from FM-very creative in their attempt to make the working convertible top. Now the execution of the top mechanics is a bit crude, it doesn't look as good as it should-but I give them high points for the concept. I for one and pleased to have it in my collection, it makes for great conversation. The '36 Hudson is a beautiful car and my favorite of the 30s Hudson designs. so having it, is another high point.

Great pics and a neat old car John......since people were in black and white at the time this car rolled the highways, the monochromatic theme would have carried all the way to the exquisite RED hood ornament
I have the red one [PIC] and wished they'd do it in something more subdued and period. Then they came out with it in silver of all choices. I passed. My vision for this image didn't include either colors.... and I love the image itself. It was a most ambitious undertaking. I didn't like the top up look nor the tonneau cover. I just pose mine top down and uncovered.
I wish I had gotten the red version-I admit the model's working top is way less than it should be. The model is otherwise so wonderfully crafted, I love it.

Hmmm, now I'm thinking I should buy one and display it like Rich does. I do love the car.
For me it was all about the convertible top that didn't operate properly. Otherwise a beautiful model with outstanding pics.

Rich, I display my silver one exactly like you have your red one. IMO the silver one comes closer to being period correct than the red but neither would have been my choice if I were making the decision.
I agree with all comments here, but I do think that OVERALL this model is wonderful and amazing. It’s jam packed with working features aside from the top, the side windows crank up and down, doors have real hinges, real leather seats , nice PE parts, tight gaps, I believe that the driveshaft even turns with moving the rear wheels!
As for the colors..... I prefer the silver. The red is far too bright for this car IMO and a bit garish. The silver is more subdued and period correct. I honestly think that this model is very CMCish. Even the top of the Cmc models is a bit bulky and not quite realistic but they at least use real textile to cover their convertible tops which to me looks better then molded painted plastic.
Mine was a little dull, but a light polishing brought out a brilliant shine and finish. I think this particular model doesn’t get the credit it deserves. I know I LOVE mine and consider it a must have for any eclectic die-cast collection.
