GORGEOUS! Always wished the skirts were removable like those that DM did later on.

Have it and love it!  There is a story behind this one though.

Back in the mid-1990's, my wife was out to lunch with some girl friends to a place called Toby's up in Hinckley, Minnesota.  In the restaurant they have a gift shop that sold collectibles.  In a glass rotating case, she saw some die-cast cars and she spotted this '56 Chevy, and she wasn't sure I had it or not, so she didn't buy it.

Describing the color to me when she got home, I told her it was one that I didn't have.  When I called Danbury Mint, they assured me it wasn't one of their models.  Then Calling Franklin Mint, they too, told me that it was not one of their models.  But here was the deal, it was a Franklin Mint model, accept they did not sell the model themselves, as it was for an independent retailer.  The weird thing though was, FM said it was NOT one of their models.  My wife and I took a drive up to Toby's and I purchased the last one they had in stock.

LOL, that's funny.  I've always been happy that the skirts WERE NOT removable.  Smile

HA! Totally understand! But I always wanted my models to have removable tops, boots, skirts and Conny kits

I never had any problem with removable tops and boots, but skirts on most cars that were removable are a pain to put and stay on.  As for Conny Kits, with but the rarest exceptions, they looked awful on cars, so I preferred they never be on in the first place.
