The 3rd Thunderbird Generation Thunderbird. The "Bullet Bird" was a far sleeker version than the previous "Square Bird."

It is my favorite of all the Thunderbird generations, although I've never owned one, I driven several. I have owned five Thunderbirds in mt car history, and it is a car I definitely miss on the roadways, as they are seldom seen anymore.

1961 Ford Thunderbird Hardtop - issued by Danbury Mint in 2011. It is from DMs Thunderbird Anniversary Series. The model is finished in Honey Beige.

I applaud DM for issuing this model in this color. It certainly can't have been a popular choice for the 1:1 version, and when you first view this model, the color seems unimpressive. But for me, after looking at it a bit, the color radiates a warm glow that gives this model a real presence. It has become my 2nd favorite "Bullet Bird" in my collection.

Outstanding layout and photos John!  Though I've never been a fan of the '61 styling for Thunderbird, this is one of my favorite models for what it represents in Thunderbird lore.  It is a beautiful model and mine is always displayed proudly.  Hope you continuing to be well John.  Prayers always.

A nice model in colors that weren't seen on a lot of 1/1 scale but none the less very accurate.
