I remember as a kid in the fifties, two of these Divco vans would show up at the house every day. Breakfast time, the Tuscan Dairy truck would drop off a couple of unhomogenized milk bottles and I would immediately grab one and pour the cream off the top onto my cereal. In the afternoon, the Dugan Bakery truck would come and as my mother ordered bread, I would beg her to by a box of fudge covered cupcakes. The Dugan driver (rather unwisely) would let me and my buddy ride along with him for a few blocks hanging out the door. My mother saw that one day and that ended our joyrides.
Danbury Mint did a really fine job with their 1950 Divco models both inside and outside with lots to see and plenty of finger fun.
I love this model. Thanks for the pictures and story Rich.
