This 1939 Lincoln Model  K Phaeton AKA: the "Sunshine Special" was the first presidential automobile built to Secret Service specifications and bodied by Brumm & Co. After the first mods the total cost was around $15K It was further upgraded after Pearl Harbor to include run flat tires, thicker bullet proof glass with a thicker windscreen frame, bullet proof gas tank and beefed up suspension to support the added weight. With the war time modifications, the car recived the front clip from the new Model H Lincoln giving it a more modern look. The car was powered by the 150 HP 414 cid V12. The contract for the presidential limo was given to Edsel Ford who heavily lobbied for a chance to put another Ford product in FDR's stable. FDR already had a couple of Ford V8 of his own with special hand operated controls allowing him to drive them with his lower body mostly paralyzed. The car was retired in 1950, so it appeared Harry Truman also used it. It now resides in the Henry Ford Museum. The  model is one of Yat Ming's Presidential Series.

Another beautiful Lincoln limousine. The 1:1s are very impressive cars as at one point they were displayed at the Henry Ford Museum when I saw them.
