I had it, and returned it. It was longer than any other die-cast in 1:24 and didn't fit in my individual plastic cases I have for each of my cars. I wasn't about to have just ONE car that required a special or different case.

Am I sorry I returned it? NO!

Was on my diecast "bucket list" but at $400+ I'll probably kick the ol' bucket instead.

It's not NYS, it's the US Supreme Court that made that ruling.

What it does is protect in-state sellers. In the past, two vendors might have offered the same item at the same price. Only difference was one vendor was in my home state and the other wasn't. In that case buying from the out-of-state vendor would have cost me less money because of no sales tax. That advantage is now taken away, which seems perfectly fair to me.

It's the sales tax in any state that doesn't make sense, nor is it fair. We pay state and federal taxes out of our incomes before we receive it. Then after we get our "NET" pay, we have to then pay "sales tax" on items purchased, be it gas, food, whatever...that is a "tax on a tax" folks.

In August 1967 in Minnesota, our then governor Wendell Anderson got passed a 3% state sales tax that was said to be "temporary"! Well it's been temporary for 52 years now, and is up to 7.5%.

State sales tax is WRONG!

That "logic" applies to any tax. "I paid for my house, now I have to pay property tax on it?"

Income tax, sales tax, property tax, inheritance tax, etc. It's just a way for the Federal and state governments to raise the revenues they need to fund all the services they provide. Eliminate any one of those taxes, and the others would have to go up to compensate.

Supreme Ct case gave states the RIGHT to collect sales tax.Not every one has exercised the right yet

There is also a rule about "facilitators" like e-Bay.
Let me give you an interesting example. I have bought several 1/43's from Replicarz (an excellent company btw) directly on their website. Replicarz is located in Vermont, and I was never charged sales tax. Last week I bought a '48 Lincoln Continental from Replicarz, but through an auction on their e-Bay store, and this time I WAS charged NY sales tax. It was fine - it was still a great buy even at $3.83 more than I expected - but I was surprised.

Well Barry, I don't agree with property taxes AFTER my home is paid for either. Going a step further, I don't think I should have to pay taxes on any money I earn on my retirement accounts. Once a person reaches (say age) 65, they should be exempt from paying property taxes and on any money they've saved.

Barry, $3.83 here and $3.83 there, it all adds up. As I said earlier, state and federal taxes are deducted from all of our pay checks. That should be enough! But to then have to pay additional tax on stuff after we've already been taxed, IS A TAX ON TOP OF A TAX.

I've never agreed with it and never will.

You should understand that eliminating one tax would only make another tax go up.
