Rich's excellent photos of the Delahaye reminded me of the 50th Anniversary of the Pebble Beach Concours d' Elegance. And as Rich and I attended and photographed the Franklin Mint Annual Car Show and D4C Meeting, the D4C sent delegates of the Club to attend the Concours at Pebble Beach. Jay Olins, Raffi Minasian and I met at George Dill's home and on to Pebble Beach.

The theme that year was "Tear Drops & Boattails". Additionally, all previous 50 'Best of Show' winners were invited. All but a couple were in attendance!! Here's a few of the photos that I shot.

The eventual Best of Show Winner that year; the 1937 Delahaye 135M Figoni et Falaschi Cabriolet:

At the very time I shot this interior photo, Jay Leno was sticking his head in the passenger's side window as we spoke. I photographed this car for my friend Alan Novak to model the car into the gorgeous models produced by Motor City USA.

Wow, I had no idea the two 1/24 Talbots from MOC began with pictures by our own Mr. Perrone. I will treasure them even more now.

Alan did a fantastic job on the Talbot. It was kismet; Jay, Raffi and I were scheduled to go and he saw it as an opportunity to get pics of the best of the best. We had talked about modeling the T-L for about a year prior. I spoke with FM and DM about the mark as well but the timing was obviously not right. Tears
