FYI: Rare '57 Ford Skyliner in Dresden Blue on that other auction. Only $1100!
Good luck!
' ONLY '?! ...really...OK. I didn't realize this one 'took off'.
Yeah, it is relatively rare so worth a good sum but $1,100 is crazy. But hey, what does it hurt to try?
Well that is pretty high. I am glad I got mine when new.
It is an exceptional model and my favorite of the seven in my collection. With that, that is way over-priced, IMO.

I'm curious, John. Is it because you like the color that much?
Absolutely! I "LOVE" the color. The single color treatment gives the model a whole...
different appearance that just jumps out to me. Many, many years ago I saw one in a solid green. I was totally thrilled & intrigued by it and the blue version brings that feeling back.
Now as far as the price, I have certainly paid my share of "way over-priced models just to acquire them. Very foolish now that I think back. I think I reached a point in my life, that while I really appreciate these little cars, I can't justify more than $500 for a single model in this area. Punch the quality up and I might reconsider. The original DM models are fantastic, but their overall quality for the long term, gives me pause. IMO.

1957 Ford Skyliners
I have a FM red and white error edition, the blue and white Tinderbox edition, the limited edition coral and white and the solid blue Dresden edition, and the solid color is by far the best IMO
Funny, I like it the least of any of the mints Skyliners!!
That color reminds me of a generic shade of blue that Earl Schieb or Maaco would offer as a "repaint " color. Also a 50s car like this just doesn't look right not being two tone IMO. My favorite DM Skyliner is the Red and black LE and the FM favorite is the blue and white Tinderbox version. Again for those that like or love this all blue one, more power you! It just does nothing for me is all I'm saying. Just my worthless opinion! 🙈🙉🙊

Glad I have this one. It and the Cumberland Green are my two favorite '57 Skyliners. (I've never been a fan of black and red combos.) The FM versions leave me cold, especially the Starmist Blue/Colonial White and the Raven Black/Colonial White versions.
And while yes, the styling of the '57 Fords lends quite nicely to two-tone paint (as do many cars from the '50s), I think this model looks smashing as a single-tone. Kudos to DM for doing something different instead of the "expected" two-tone paint scheme. The bright-work on it really stands out against the medium blue. Photos really don't do the model justice.
Forgot to mention. S&H is another $19!
Hi Phil! I agree with you on this . LOVE the red/blace one best .
