Hachette models...

Recently acquired a 1954 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint in 1:24 scale by Hachette. On the display base is imprinted Special Centenary Edition. On the package in Italian it appears to read "imported and distributed by Hachette Fascicoli, Milan, Italy." However, not knowing anything about Hachette, I called a dealer who stated it's a French company.

Is Hachette a French company?
Does it have anything to do with the IXO brand?
Are the Hachette models accurate 1:24 scale models? This Alfa seems to be quite small for 1:24 scale.

Hachette is an Italian publishing company ...

http://www.hachette-fascicoli.it
the models were made by Leomodels, see the undercarriage. Their website doesn't load. Then the same molds were used by WhiteBox and now by SpecialC.-19
1954 Giulietta Sprint

go figure!

The original Hachette models are rarer and sell $20-40 mostly from Europe. I have several of them. Some of them are very good for the money.

Hope this helps...

Hachette 1:24 models

Hi Bob,

go to Ebay italy and you will see more. I'm from Germany and I've a large FM/DM and WCPD collection, so I bought also much from these 1:24 models.

There where several series. The 1st series, called Fabbri Quattroruote, models contents cars from the 50s up to the 80s - Audi Quattro, Mercedes 190E, 1st Golf GTi, Lancia Aurelia Spyder, Renault Dauphine, Citroen DS/Dyane/ 2CV, Fiat 850, Uno, 1st Multipla, some Alfas and much more. But all European models. The next series was the Alfa Centenary series for their 100 years celebration, only Alfa cars - incl. your lt. blue coupe - and the 5 or 6 Alfas from the 1st series now in a other color and much more. And all are really great for this money - Giulia SS, Alfa TZ Zagato, Villa d'Este, 1900 Coupe, very beautiful models
Then a big German toy store made some modes from the 1st and 2nd series in other colors - the Whitebox models.

Presently is the 3rd series in Italy running, called Auto Vintage and when I'm right all from the 1st and 2nd series are included, in other colors. Now your coupe is red, which looks also very good. I've also both!

The big German toy store now have Special C, the next variation. But these are the Alfa models from the Alfa Centenary series, in the Auto Vintage colors. A little curious.

That's what I know. Search for 1:24 Fabbri, 1:24 Quattroruote, 1:24 Auto Vintage. In Germany 1:24 Whitebox or SpecialC.

Best regards

Harald
