Has anyone tried to polish the hood ornament on the

Franklin Mint 1929 Bugatti Royale Type 41, Esders Roadster

What did you use?

Thanks

It's made out of silver. Use silver polish to remove the tarnish….

Mask up the area around the ornament to minimize the mess and use an old toothbrush.

Terry I don't own that model but as Bob mentioned FM used real sterling silver on some models

The hood ornaments on the FM 34 Packards are sterling silver too and I used a dab of silver polish on a q tip and it worked out nicely

YES that is it. PS:

PS: use a liquid silver cleaner. Turn model upside down, and just dip the elephant into the solution. Then use a damp (water) cu-tip to remove left-over solution.

Been doing this for years.

Air causes silver tarnish.

After polishing it, try sealing it from the air with something like future wax.
