Senior year 1964, suddenly, my girlfriend wasn't returning my calls. I realized she had dumped when I saw, looking unapologetic sitting next the the smug SOB driving off, top down, in his gorgeous bronze '58 Pontiac Bonneville convertible. I remember the car more than I remember her. The styling of that car (albeit a bit over the top) was just what I dreamed of... the perfect cruiser / babe magnet.
DM's TriPower convertible has all the bells and whistles you could option on the car and they're rendered magnificently. The badging and scripts are either PE or foiled and finely scaled. The trim package could make a Turnpike Cruiser blush and it all carried off with precision and proper alignment. From a high schooler perspective, it's the one that got away... well, actually her and it.
Sweet memories Rich, even if you lost that girl. Nice model.
Good story, GREAT pics. Tell ya what Pal; the one you ended up with more than makes up for that momentary heartache!
Well....if she dumped you for a guy with a better car....I think the guy did you a favor. Lol.
Beautiful model car.
