steady rain last 5 days.............`bout an inch or more on the barn floor.......old man Collins fit to be roped and tied as the heavy leaf cover threatens to kill his winter rye.....rain or NO rain,he wants it gone today
Gunther K and Henry Yelson finally (and begrudgingly),drag the equipment outside, only to find solid sheet ice under the leaf cover.....as is their wont, they`ll 2 out of 3 a paper/scissors/rock hand toss to see who gets the honor of breaking the news to Collins
Things get just a TAD worse when Gunter,Henry and the pig all discover just what happened to that barrel of Poppy Seeds that were supposed to have been delivered uptown just before Thanksgiving
LOVE Aaron Neville! And great pics, but sure sorry to hear about old man Collins' rye problems.Â
Around here, we keep our rye in jars. If you've ever seen the TV show "Moonshiners", you know that some of them are right here in east tennessee and their Sugarlands Shine is just up the road in Gatlinburg.
Oh and by the way, I'm sure you knew, but that first photo is of an actual, running & producing, grain mill. It's in my county, Blount Co., in Cades Cove in Great Smoky Mountains National Park!

2cool4school !!......I have seen a few Eps of that show Tony.....it`s ok, but doesn`t have NEARLY enough killing or mayhem to hold my attention 🤔 ............"Cold Mountain" is IMHO the epitome of an ideally romanticized notion of this area we share......(I`m just down the hill from Asheville)

EDIT: not Cold Mountain....."Winter`s Bone"
Have the DVD and LOVE it!!! And Asheville??? LOVE IT! Don't get me started - I took Shirl to 'The Inn at Biltmore Estate' twice - 60th and 65th BD. Between the two I could have had half a Ferrari paid for!!! L O L !Â

Their cornmeal, flour & grits have provided us with many good meals. Couple different angled shots of it:

thanks for the pics of the mill Tony....as for the Biltmore, I`ve been a couple times, once near Christmas which was pretty special.......it really blew me away to see the massive scale of all the rooms....most "specifically" impressive:sub level indoor pool and bowling alley

Yes, the Biltmore, itself, is mighty impressive - "The Inn on the Biltmore Estate", even more so! The stays included tours of the Biltmore House and exclusive tours behind the estate, the rooftop tour and horseback riding in secluded woods. No wonder I love Asheville!

the rooftop tour is,I imagine, not only a close-on view of the finest architectural technology of it`s time, but a maze of hidden doorways,gnome-ish structures and myriad stairways and trapdoors..........as for riding the estate woods?...Inconceivable !!!.....and yes, unlike Vizzini,I know what that word means

EXACTLY right sir! And the link is 100% correct. The Inn is perfectly exquisite but the highlight of our two week stays there were the Four-Star Dining Room Restaurant; it's ambience, wait service, and above all else, the extraordinarily incredible fare. Â
