Danbury Mint had sent out fliers promising a 1/24 model of the 1966 Barris Batmobile, but never could work out the rather byzantine licensing agreement and costs. Barris, Warner Brothers and DC Comics all laid claim to the rights so DM settled with DC Comics for one of their comic book versions. There were a few examples to choose from as the car was not drawn the same was in various issues. DM gave us a pretty nice rendition with operating panels and a suspension worthy of a Hollywood stunt car.
If you wanted a DIY model, there also was a diecast kit from the Johnny Lightning group along with an identical plastic kit by Polar Lights which I also bought to kitbash some details and use their unassembled and unpainted Batman and Robin figures. This offered one more take on the comic book Batmobile of the '60s. About 10 years later, Mattel finally paid the freight.
Mecum Auctions sold one a little while back that looked pretty nice - for BIG $. But I like yours better!
