YES, YES, and YES. Both in several different colors and options. When can we place our order:)
Jim, the sedan delivery you described would probably look great.
The original question was about what we thought would sell.
Personally, I only have one diecast vehicle with a company logo, the FM red & black '40 Ford "Parts" pickup. I always go for stock versions before the customs or "Billboards."
The DM Custom '53 Studebaker is a good example. I have no interest in the custom car but would break out in a cold sweat to have a stock black one.
That custom sedan delivery you described would be a knockout but how many people would line up to buy it compared to a stock '59 station wagon?
The manufacturers would like to do a lot of cars but they are playing with real money and have to consider real world marketability to recoupe their investment.
If Brian wants to do the custom sedan delivery and thinks he can cover the costs it would eventually end up as a premium item to collectors...depends on how it goes over.
Also...if a custom '59 was made back then, it probably would have taken a few years to get to it so instead of a 348, why not add the excitement of a 409? I remember when the 409 hit the streets in '61 and it was considered to be the hot engine at that time. The 409 looks like the 348 so detail differences are minor.

STATION WAGON , STATION WAGON , STATION WAGON !!!
A STOCK El Camino would be great, please!
Stock El Camino here also.
I would definately go for stock versions of both.
Dan, are you saying then....................................
that you might go for it if the engine were a 409?
Jim, I'm saying that if Brian wants to make a custom '59 Sedan Delivery a 409 engine might appeal to the buyers.
I know it's silly because in plastic form there is little difference between a 348 and a 409 engine but the thought of having a 409 engine under the hood of a '59 Chevy might just be enough to entice some more customers to buy.
Maybe Brian should do a mock-up of what he has in mind and show a picture here.
At one time I dreamed of having a 1;1 '59 El Camino with a 409 engine.

Jim, the El-Camino, maybe, Resto- Mod-Burnt-Orange- underWhite, man!
...I asked first....for"bubble '61, PLEEZE!
First off this is JMHO Jim, but I think the sedan delivery is a much better idea.
The number of variations in resto-mod with different wheels, engine sizes, paint schemes and colors could be endless. Also with every mod you can do to the sedan delivery you can use the same parts on the El Camino. The station wagon I believe would only appeal to a much smaller market, a vocal market but a much smaller one. Also with the station wagon what can you do to alter the appearance to make it look different enough for people to buy more than one. I am guessing most of these people asking for it don't buy more than 1 color of a car released. You and Brian can check my theory to see if these people who are asking for a station wagon are buying more than one of the different colors of the cars WCPD has released.
I use the FM 61 Ford Station wagon as a example of how a station wagon would sell. Nice car but it is not a car in demand or one that most collectors have or even want. As I stated in the beginning, these are only my opinions and not a attack on anyone.
I would like to add, any parts used for a resto-mod of the Sedan Delivery like engine, drive line and wheels could be used to modify any or all the other Impalas WCPD has relaesed.:)
I'm confused now. Isn't the '61 WCPD coupe a bubble top??
Sean, I don't know where or when this thread went wrong but I am not against a sedan delivery and
I'm not sure I would be for it. It would all depend on the finished product and how it would strike me at the time.
The FM '61 Ford Country Squire is a good case for me. I actually owned a green one. Someday I hope to get the model but as long as cars like the GMP Shelby Mustang and DM '69 Boss-429 Mustang keep popping up, the wagon will wait.
People vote for the models they want with their wallet. I would jump on a '59 Chevy El Camino because I wanted one from the first time I saw it. Family needs did not allow me to get one but I still lust after the El Camino. I never had the same desire for a sedan-delivery so it's not on my high-priority list.
I don't think I'm alone on the sedan delivery and hesitate to recommend that Brian go ahead with production as it may not sell as many units as, say a '59 Chevy flat-top; or maybe the gorgeous '59 Olds Flat-top.
Jim asked for opinions and that's all I'm offering. Whether Brian proceeds with production of a sedan delivery or selects another image is up to him, it's his investment.
I think I'll stop commenting on this thread as it seems to be getting a little controversial.

Stock El Camino sure. Not sure about the others.
Sorry, Dan, I ment to address my opinions to Jim.
