After being overwhelmed with Danbury Mint's incredible '53 Buick Skylark's, I didn't think it could get any better for Buick models. When these brochures hit my mailbox, I was proven wrong quickly. I remember the morning the model arrived at my doorstep and I unpacked it. WOW! I'd honestly had to sit down and admire it. I just wanted to drive it! I actually looked in the box to see if "keys" were included.
The color "Terrace Green" accented well with the wood.
1953 BUICK WOODY ESTATE WAGON proved to be a superb model that only Danbury Mint could give us, and with life-like wood decked out with white-wall tires and spinner hubcaps. Load up the family, it's time for a trip to the country for a picnic!
Some REAL '53 Buick wagon Facts:
This would be the last year that General Motors offered a "Woody" wagon with REAL wood. It was dubbed a "Super Estate Wagon" fit for 6-passengers and could be had with the optional wheel covers, The car weighed 4,150 pounds and sold for $3,430 with only 1,830 produced, making it an extremely rare car today.
TOMORROW in the "I'VE GOT MAIL" series, still another '53 Buick!
