This was one of my first cars, and I was so surprised by the weight of the model.  Had a lot of nice features that you had not seen on earlier models.  My only regret is that I did not get the all white with gold re-issue.  They are hard to come by on the 2nd hand market too.

I loved the real car. It was so easy to customize. It was virtually the same car from 1953 to the 1965 GT Hawk. You could mix and match panels and parts to give you a totally different look. The popular customization was the swap out the boxy Hawk deck lid for the '53  lower height bubble lid to creat a much sleeker profile and really accentuate the tail fins.

This one never fails to bring a smile to my face everytime I see it. I know it's not perfect, but it is such a nice model that just grabs me every time. Everything else, I can forgive.
