SPECIAL 50th ANNIVERSARY EDITION of Danbury Mint's 1958 CHEVROLET IMPALA SPORT COUPE
The legend of the IMPALA began in 1958! It was a name that came to identify a top-of-the-line Chevy for decades. Of all of the Chevy's of Fabulous Fifties, the '58 is my all-time favorite body-style. It was new, it was sleek, it was stylish, and it was beautiful. And this 50th Anniversary Edition in GLEN GREEN is my favorite of all of the Danbury Mint '58's.
Some REAL '58 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe facts:
Brand new it sold for $2,693 and weighed 3,442 pounds and was considered sub-series to the Bel Air which rolled 532,000 cars off the assembly line. The Bel Air which had previously been the most expensive Chevy, was now relegated under the new Impala.

Thanks Tony! I enjoy doing them. The last couple of days have been a little hectic for various reasons I don't need to go in to. I will continue to post when time permits. This is my favorite place to relax.

You sure picked a winner today, George! That Glen Green Impala is a beautiful replica of a beautiful car. Mine is in the display case right next to its market competitor, DM's '58 Plymouth Fury.

I have this brochure as well as the now very rare Impala model, which I display next to my Panama Yellow 1958 Corvette. I luv that Glen Green. One of these days, I really need to gather up my brochures and put them in a binder.
A beautiful model. I passed on it when it was issued, not sure why now. I was able to secure one a year or so ago. Very happy to have it now.
I also enjoy your series George. I have most of these brochures and remember when they arrived. It was always a thrill to open them up and look at the all the features of the new models. Your posts bring those memories back, and in a way, it's like reliving those days.
