I've never made it a secret that the '56 Chevy of the "Tri-Fives" is my favorite. I've also mentioned in previous posts that I like the Yellow/Black Two-Tone color combination on Fifties cars. I think they all wore the colors well, and that is especially true on this model from FRANKLIN MINT. Excusing the fact that the model is from the "old tooling" era and that the roof-line appears slightly higher than it should be towards the windshield, this is one fine replica. Being on my shelves for a couple of decades now, it has stood the test of time, with being a sound model in replication. Plainly said, I LIKE THIS CAR! When the Brochure arrived in my mailbox, it being my favorite "Tri-Five" and in the striking color combo, I ordered it without a moments hesitation. It remains one of my favorite cars in my collection.

Excellent writeup George. I too have had this model in my collection for many decades. The color combination always makes me smile.

I'd always hoped that one of the mints would have given us a 1:24 scale Mercury in Yellow/Black.

Of the Tri-Fives, my favorite has always been the '56 as well, George! And that color combo may be my favorite of the lot. I owned that FM and had the skirts removed by a member who did a 'Mint'-perfect job. I was hounded to sell it and, crazy me did!

That's an excellent offer George and I really do appreciate it. But I couldn't possibly go over a half million!

Seriously? Sorry, but there is no way I could go that low. I can't believe you didn't jump on my offer!

The other "Killer color combo" on American cars in the Fifties was RED/BLACK.
