Wanderer Fahrradwerke AG began as a bicycle repair shop in 1885 and began manufacturing bicycles by 1886. Their product line evolved to motorcycles and then automobiles. Absorbed into Auto Union AG in 1932, the brand was kept and in 1936 AU introduced the Wanderer two seat roadster. Supercharging a little 2.0 liter I-4 to produce 85 hp, it was lightweight and peppy and more importantly, affordable. It was given the nickname "puppchen" meaning 'baby doll'. Produced until 1938, it was the last new model bearing the Wanderer name which was finally dropped by AU in 1945.

superb model, and pics. Have had it for many years. Dash detail is extraordinary for the time. Thanks Rich
Have it, love it. As Geoff says, the detail on the dashboard is extraordinary.
That one looks excellent and photographs beautifully. I almost got one of these Wanderers in 1/18 by Ricko, I think. It displays good in scale and for real.
Smack on the forehead...yep..duh..
I always liked the song 'The Wanderer' but I don't think it was written about the car...
