..They never gave us enough Cord's! FM gave us two re-paint's of their '37 convertible but still not enough.

I had the yellow one, but sold it as it did not fit in with my years of interest.  But I do like the Black and White one.

Have them all, love them all. The Wood Lights on the Brook Stevens car are a nice touch. As always the pictures are great Tony.

would have loved more Cords too. The Automodello sells for really big bucks on the rare occasion when one is listed. For about 5 minutes Automodello had an Australian distributor selling it. I waited. Another 5 minutes and they were gone! Thanks Tony

Great images of these beautiful Cords, Tony ! So far, I have Cords in 1/43 and 1/18 scale and any of the 1/24 would be a fine addition, too.

@geoff-jowett Great model but somewhat frustrating, as almost every model I've seen needs repairs. I returned one because the dashboard had issues, the replacement (personally picked by JC) had a small casting defect, and the transmission trim got quickly undone (similar to Tony's) and the regluing is not trivial. Don't overpay for it Geoff, one day you will find one at the right price; and if the price is right (even with a visible/disclosed defect) buy it, they all have issues. The hood ornament (missing on Tony's pictures) if frequently lost or detached.

Great pictures and subject Tony! I love Cords!

One correction: the FM Cord has 3 repaints: dark blue, maroon and black. The black one was the last and is almost unknown because, first it is a LE, and second not a single one was spared by the diecast rot. Many were probably trashed.

Esval did the blue Cord in 1:24

Here is Geoff picture, I repositioned the reverse mirrors on mine, another nontrivial repair:

thanks Chav, thats important information. I think the last one (MIB I think) sold for $700+. Hopefully I can find one that my young friend, and highly skilled modeler Mat could well repair. And we have the recent across the board price drops to consider too.

the Esval model is beautiful. As it has been ages since the Cord was released I'd say we've lost another 1/24 producer. And their 1928 Cadillac Town Sedan is up there with anything Automodello has produced. Unfortunately though they seem to sit endlessly on ebay, although all at high buy it now prices. Would be interested to see how the market valued them as I'd love to have a go at getting the green version to go with my red one. Sorry I've wandered off the Cord theme!

PS. Chav did you move the rear view mirrors so that they attached to the spare wheel straps? Incredible job if so, well done.

Excellent comments all folks - Thank You. (Chav, I made the corrections to the Automodello as you described - AFTER taking photos. I didn't realize them until after the photos were taken. Still holding - 🙂 )
