Maybe it's because I've awaited it with great anticipation, or it might be that this will be the second consecutive Danbury car that I've had to return for being defective, but I am really ticked off to have to say that the 1967 Charger is going back!It suffers from the same problem that the 1954 Caddy Eldo did;the passenger's door will not stay shut.
I had great expectations for this car and truth be told, everything else about it is spectacular, but for the asking price of this model I expect it to be not only stunning but fully operational.
Rant over. I hope my replacement was inspected by someone other than Barbara!

Michael, I had the same problem with 1967 Butternut Yellow Camaro model....

I sent it back twice and both times, the door would not stay shut. I gave up and opted for the newly released 56 Packard Caribbean Convertible.....Well, I tried three times with that one and finally gave up.

DM is aware of the problem but it may take some time. Stop ordering models until they can get it taken care of. We can't live without food, lodging and health, but we can take a break from diecast if we are unhappy with the current crop.

I am sorry to say, but I agree. CS is the best, and they are very responsive, and will continue sending replacements...for me most the time they finally get it right. But, it is frustrating and disappointing.

I got my 67 Charger

Wednesday and I just got the chance to check it out. Mine is a keeper. I did notice DM is using a bigger box than they have been using lately. I wish they would continue to use the smaller box. With about 600 Diecast car boxes in my garage I am running out of storage space. JMHO

I can't remember the last car I returned to FM or DM but two things that really tick me off are doors that won't stay shut or hoods/trunks that won't stay open.

I've had to return two DM Boss 302s in a row. I have cancelled my order.

I might try another one in November or December which hopefully will come from a newer shipment. Prior to this, I can't remember the last one I had to return. I know DM has had issues with their factory in China, but there are definite way to solve their quality control problems where people end up getting defective returns from others. One is to include a return form which explains what and where the problems/defects are, followed by a tighter examination on their end to destroy any returns deemed not appropriate to go out to another customer. An example would be a car with doors that don't shut tight. "Do to others what you'd like done to you" in other words. That would increase their customer satisfaction, which has slipped a bit recently.

Returns

Well, I just got a return label e-mailed to me by Danbury. I asked about availability of a replacement and was informed that they will be back ordered until early October. I hope that means the next batch will be a little more closely inspected. Oh well, it's back into anticipation mode ๐Ÿ˜‰
