"Yes Virginia,there IS no magic dog"
It was a dark and stormy night ...the doggie, identified in the overnights as "Dally" was just your run-of-the-mill streetwalker hound,a few years past his prime......and a decade beyond any high resolution or closeup camera work......just as the various elements of the scene began to gel,LAKE EFFECT SNOW set everyone back on their heels......the minute he saw the bus door swing open, Billy (Dally) made a bee-line for the craft table,a whole brisket, and the warm cardboard boxes strewn about underneath the table.....he was no more than a memory on the set from that point on
