What a beautiful car and model !
a veritable Highway Queen !!!...........great photos Geoff
Geoff, yours arrived before mine. I'm guessing the postal service views Mississippi as a foreign destination.
Mine arrived on Thursday. In my opinion, it is the BEST of the three Skylarks offered by Automodello. I have the Red one and the White one, both are nice, but when compared to the Green one, WOW! For me, it's the "two-tone" interior on the Green one that makes the difference. Now these accolades shared, I do honestly feel that the price of these cars is a little steep. No undercarriage detail, no motor or opening hood, doors, and trunk. A NICE MODEL, but without those features we were all used to with the mints and their diecasts, the Automodello's are just too costly...in my opinion. I personally would just not be able to justify ordering them often like I did the mints cars at an over hundred dollar less price.

LOL, sounds like your mail service is about as bad as mine, and I live in Minnesota. We no longer get mail 6 days a week. There are usually three days minimum a week that we DON'T get mail. And the other downside is, on any given day there is absolutely no way to count on what time it will delivered. One day it will be 9:00am, the next day it might be Noon, and another day it has been as late as 4:30pm. I'm old enough to remember when I could tell time by the mail delivery. As a kid, our mail would arrive every morning by 9:30 without fail. For many of some of the recent years previous, there would be like a two-hour window when it would arrive. But in the last couple years, there is no way to know when or if we'll have a delivery. Sign of the times I guess.

Bob I can assure you quick postal arrival is a rarity here too! The color is striking and possibly unique? The only other car in my collection close to it is the 1950 FM Chevy Belair. Valid points about lack of engine details etc but to me the to scale reproduction of the tiny exterior parts pretty much compensate for this. You just about need a magnifying glass to see the hood ornament. And hey George you saved me about $30 off the total cost! The $AUD has dropped by about that much since March when I ordered it after your alert to it being available.
Can't wait for my green one to arrive.

I agree with you on the Green color and also on it being close to the 50 Chevy. I'd also add that I think it's quite close to Danbury Mint's '58 Chevy Impala in I believe "Glen Green". I have it as well, and it's a superb replica.
