I like both of these but never bought either one. I was too busy spending my money on the pristine versions.

I guess a guy could take a couple imperfect models from a collection and make these without too much trouble.  ??

I used to have quite a few of the standard models that were made into "weatherized" versions. Not sure why, but I sold them all.

They certainly are impressive and make remarkable display pieces, as these pictures show. A conversation starter about the soul present in inanimate objects, for sure.

Here's my neglected beater rotting in the driveway.  I'd like to take credit for it, but I purchased it on eBay a few years ago.

@pete-rovero Love the road runner.  They did a great job on the weathering.  I with Bob though, I had rather buy the pristine models than the ones that needed rebuilding.

Tony, here's the 1:1 car that inspired the purchase, a 1968 GTX that my friend is storing for his friend.  It was his high school car in the late 70's and he won't part with it.  Believe it or not, it still runs and drives!

@carsman1958 Yes, the seller did a great job of weathering, definitely a has talent for it.  He had a weathered Z28 Camaro for sale as well.  I grabbed some pictures of it but didn't buy it.

@pete-rovero Pete the workmanship on this is remarkable and if I didn't know better I would think it is a 1/1.

I'm just in awe of the incredible craftsmanship and detail done to make these outstanding models look old and neglected.

I can't help but think of the rodents that live within this forgotten car.  Displeased
