thanks again John, I've received a reply from them, where they very clearly state that they are not liable for any damage in transit. Now ebay, with all its many faults, does refund. I recently received a full, including postage, refund for a minor, repairable, damaged in transit model shipped via their global shipping program. Refund also applies if it is lost in the post. Considering the vagaries of international shipping I prefer to take the safest course. But again, thanks.

.....ebay definitely favors the buyer.......I had intended to photo the sliding platform feature on the waste truck today......but then I got distracted by a cute dog and used up my photo budget
