This silver and black 1936 Horch 853 Cabriolet with its beautiful wood and glass presentation case was a numbered limited edition by CMC ostensibly for Audi personnel for an anniversary. Thanks to the late Jay Olins, the club obtained a small shipment of these model for those in the club who preordered. It's one of those "front and center" models in my 1/24 collection. Undoubtedly not historically accurate, I display them with the first two post-war German Chancellors, Konrad Adenauer offering advice to his successor, Ludwig Erhard.
I have what I assume is the more common dark red version. A standout in my display cases.
Thanks Rich. Tony I always wanted to add a drop top but never seemed to get around to it.
I have the other 2 too! However the silver and black works best, especially matching the interior colours. I regularly check the secondary market and I can never recall seeing one for sale. Indeed a rare beauty, and as always beautifully photographed, thanks Rich, and Tony.
Thanks Guys for this fantastic display of gorgeous Horsch cars. I missed out on these, not concentrating on this scale at a critical time.
I can drool but I'll just look for now.
All great photo's. Just not my taste. Thanks for sharing, I always like to see what others collect.
Richard I have this Black/silver LE and the Red/Burgandy top down version. Both are lovely models. My silver one though does have some rash on the door and I believe on the bonnet. How’s yours holding up????
