My mother never stopped talking about the 1939 New York World's Fair. She was an executive secretary at the Research Institute of America in Manhattan that was a think tank that by then was preparing for the eventuality of the coming war. One of her duties was to provide entertainment for the bigwigs coming from DC and on weekends would escort them to the Fair in Flushing Meadows in Queens. Even as a little kid, I knew all about the Trilon and Perisphere:
I was really tickled when our LECC-Vll, the 1939 Ford Deluxe V8 Cabriolet was given matching trailer with the theme: "World's Fair or Bust". I think mom would have gotten a real kick out of it and would have regaled me with her adventures there.
Love the comments regarding your mother's involvement in the 1939 New York Worlds Fair. I too have this model and love it and the trailer.
Now that IS an awesome story. Also, a beautiful model and photos. As always, thanks Rich. I really do enjoy each and every one you share with us.💯👍😊

What a great-looking automobile replica ! The trailer is a really cool touch. It is a wonderful color, too.
One of the best early Twilight Zone episodes involved an airliner that seemed to suddenly get caught in an incredible jetstream wind and when they went down in altitude all they saw were dinosaurs. Realizing they could not land, they went high up again and caught the strange jetstream again. However, this time when they went down they could only raise LaGuardia Airport near New York. And then they saw the Trilon and Perisphere at the 1939 New York World's Fair and they realized they had not come back far enough in time !
