Franklin Mint's 1939 Ford Deluxe V8 Cabriolet was released at their high water mark of their model making evolution The build quality, parts count and operating features were virtually unsurpassed at the time. I was delighted that our club car for that year would be an LE variant and was surprised that it came towing a cute little matching trailer. Looking the model over, I was also surprised just how 'deluxe' the Deluxe model was. As the Zephyr was to the Continental, this Deluxe package made the car their little brother. For all quality built into this model, I was a bit shocked that an MIB example of the standard issue is only commanding about $60 these days.
GREAT pics!!!
After we finished putting that Limited Edition Club Car together, TFM told us they would amortize their investment by using the same format but for a different model. We decided on making those changes to their World's Fair (blue) car but they used the new tooling to revise their 1936 Ford.
The result was also remarkable:
@perrone1 That tutone with the red piping looks sharp. I notice the extra accessories for the trailer. Do I assume George Bojaciuk was still at FM for that release?
Have both, love both. The roll up window feature is outstanding on the 39.
Tony thanks for working with TFM to bring this master piece to us as a LECC. THIS and the blue 1939 WF Ford are both in my collection and are both stand outs! And thank you Richard for positing these fine photos!!
This is really nice. The details are really amazing and so on point. The craftmanship itself is magnificent. I guess this is worth buying because this limited edition is really nice and a good model. It's one of the best ones yet. I haven't found any that is as good as this.
