It was back in antediluvian times when I got this beautiful 1935 Auburn 851 Boattail Speedster. OK, it's old tech with dog legs and applique dash cluster, but that was the state of the art in those days. I just love the classic lines of this car that you'd picture Hollywood movie stars having selfies taken while leaning on its fender. I found it interesting that in 1935, "supercharged" was actually 2 words, hyphenated. Although it seems more period with it white finish with red top, years later I also bought the blue with saddle interior for the color combo and just a touch of upgrades.

just in case anyone else was wondering. "The antediluvian period is the time period chronicled in the Bible between the fall of man and the Genesis flood narrative in biblical cosmology."

A word a day, along with great pics and car info, thanks Rich

Just to bring some clarity to this I'd like to add the following...Antediluvian years refer to the biblical period before the Great Flood, famously lasting about 1,656 years according to Genesis, from Creation (around 4004 BCE) to the Flood (around 2348 BCE). This era is characterized in religious texts by exceptionally long lifespans (like Adam's 930 years, Noah's 950) and great wickedness, featuring figures like CainEnoch, and the Nephilim (giants). While the term literally means "before the flood," it also colloquially describes anything ancient or old-fashioned.

Laughing Out Loud

So Geoff and John, were there any automobiles built during this period?

The Auburn 851 might not be quite antediluvian but but viewing it is almost a biblical experience. Beautiful.
