Thirty years ago, wasn't it cool to have a model of a 1934 Packard V12 Boat tail Roadster? Sure, the paint had orange peel, the dash was a 2D applique, the V12 was devoid of detailing parts... I could go on; but it still looked pretty cool for a '2 foot' model. Then those white walls turned yellow and I tried evert automotive product available... to no avail. It's still in my display but hardly in a prominent position. It blends in like an ugly Rockette lost in the line up at a Radio City Music Hall show.
One of my oldest diecasts. Wonder if Bleche-Wite would help?
That was the first product I tried.
Rich, Everything you said about the model is true but it is still one of my favorites. Being a retired dentist, have you tried toothpaste? I haven't but I've heard of others who have used toothpaste on their model cars whitewalls with some success.
@bob-jackman The detergents and abrasives in toothpaste are nowhere near strong enough. The chemicals in type and concentration can't be an irritant to delicate mucosa and because it's meant for daily use, it's only minimally abrasive.
