(Pic) A 1948 Chevrolet Fleetline Aerosedan in 1/24th scale
Here's a snapshot of a 1948 Chevy Aerosedan in red. I believe MotorMax may have done this one, and it's a very nice replica of a particularly cool design from the '40's and early '50's.
So far, there are several great-looking aero-style diecasts available in scales like 1/24 and 1/43, but I don't believe that 1/18 has yet had the benefit of a model of this sensational type of American car. Hopefully, there is a possibility that Precision Miniatures may do something in the near future along these lines.
In the meantime, this one was certainly available at a bargain price and it sure looks good to me on display. How about some more of these designs in all scales !

My Pics .... This is my 48 Fleetline Sedan by Welly..... Maybe the same model??
That sure looks like the one
I have, Jerry. Even though I have seen the 1/24th Chevy Aerosedan advertised as a MotorMax, I imagine it could very well be Welly instead.
Mine actually doesn't have a manufacturer listed on the chassis, so perhaps this tooling is used by either or both companies.
Here's another from that set.... [PIC]
That Aerosedan tooling has been around. Jada has one in stock or lowrider form. Testors released it in kit form. I have one in black and with some paint detailing,it made a neat little model.
Here's the '47 Cadillac that I took apart to paint and foil. These were selling for 3 for $24 at a local show a few years back. In the first picture, you can just see the Chevy next to it.

Nice pics, fellas...isn't that the model used for a paint job on the D4C site...Features section?? It speaks of how to paint a diecast.
Welley, too, has some '65 Impalas...coupe/conv.., which I intend to get some time next yr., if the mints don't " get their acts together " on this Impala!!
Not too into the '62-'64's, but, the '65, with the tri lites, and, the whole new body style, seems neat. Didn't really appereciate them, back in '65...just kinda got to liking them a few yrs. ago...like those '63 Plymouth's tho...where are they???
Great job!
Clark... I just bought the Welly 65 Impala....
Its a great 4 footer. I bought for the same reason you stated. Tired of waiting for the mints to get around to it. Also bought a Welly 70 Buick GSX, Both cars are awesome for 10 bucks. I call these 'filler' cars, they fill in for the real thing till the real thing gets here.
Only drawback is the Welly cars are 1:26 scale not 1:24 as some of the online retailers advertise them to be and it shows when displayed next to a 1:24. I'll try and get a comparison pic up a little later.
Tanks, Mark..at least we have " fillers". DM oughta sit up and take note that we need to resort to " fillers"!!!LOL, eh!
Maybe, the WC idea to do the Caddy 16's gone stale/sour, and, time has come to be first in line to take on this babe...to fill that '61-'65 slot...Watt do people think of that idea, or, are they still on the Sixteen train...of thought...???.....seems it has been years since that, first, was being bandied about...tho, apparently, they may be close....didn't get a very clear gist of where( in time line ) it's going from the last post..
At any rate, W.C/others (in the precision side of things), better not take too long, either..'cause I'd be darned happy with a Unique Replicas version, if it happened...that'd fill my boots...my age is catching up to me...as far as actually collecting this stuff is concerned...soon, I'll only have the strength/desire to sit back and admire!!!
PIC 1:26 next to 1:24..........
To Cold a snowy outside today for good pics but these should work for comparison....

Incorrect scales are so irritating! I heard they do that to fit certain package dimensions..
so, the bigger the 1:1, the smaller the scale.
