Trivia question Doug on those hideaway lights on the Imperials and NYers
A) where they electrically operated or vacuum operated? and B) What direction did they go when opening? Did they flip UP and over the headlamps (like your Bill Blass's) or down and under the headlamps? 😉 let me know how well you know your hideaway lights! hee hee
I don't know these as well as Lincolns but here's my guess...
Since I have never seen these with vacume leaks like on Lincolns of the same vintage I'll say electric. As far as the direction, Iam going to guess down but don't know for sure. How'd I do?
Thanks, yes she was a gem. And a car gal. She always had luxury cars. Olds Starfires, 98,
Riviera, Cougar, 50's Packard, 06 Lincoln Zephyr. The Lincoln was her last car.
Had one in Black, luved it. When a TRUNK was a TRUNK.
Larry, you got my curiosity up, so I checked my files......
I have over 16,600 pics of 1:1 cars, trucks, etc. I couldn't tell how many different marques because the number of pics of each car varies from one to ten or more. Of those 16,600 pics, 10% of them are car show pics I have collected.
I also have over 6000 pics of various scale model cars, planes, trains, boats, etc., mostly 1:24 scale models.... It has taken 8-10 years to collect them all.....
Looks like we are about equal though you are slightly ahead.
The extra you have that I don't have is the 6000 pics of various scale model cars, planes, trains, boats, etc., mostly 1:24 scale models. My model pics are only of the models in my collection.
You did well! 2 for 2, YES they were electrically operated and YES they flipped downward UNDER
Good memory and or guess!
