PICS (1:1) A beautifully preserved example of an oddly optioned '64 Dodge Coronet 440 two door......

hardtop.

Currently on eBay Motors, the seller claims that the 52,833 miles showing on the odometer are correct and original.

Front bumper shines, delicate grille bars appear to be perfect and the very vulnerable headlight bezels seem to be completely damage free....

The laser straight sheet metal also seems to bear out the low mileage claim, too, but FENDER SKIRTS on a '64 Dodge???

Love that great mid '60's MoPaR reverse taper "C" pillar. High rear stance belies presence of air shocks, clearly disclosed by the seller in the auction....

This is one clean car....

Immaculate original interior leaves no doubt in MY mind that this is a low mileage car....

....but look : it's got three-on-the-tree, not even a Torqueflite, let alone a four speed!

Faded chrome on dashboard plastic is typical of these cars. Oddly enough, I've seen a number of '64 Coronets where the radio surround faded WAY more than the rest of the dash....

Wide block 318 would provide plenty of snap with the manual trans. Even with the two barrel carb, it put out 230 horsepower. But I suspect that the manual trans in combination with the non assisted steering and brakes would keep the driver pretty busy most of the time. Non-power steering on these cars wasn't terribly heavy but was AWFULLY slow....

Thanx fer lookin'. Grin

Nice. The skirts would be more acceptable if it had full wheelcovers instead of the dog dishes.

True enough, Steve. I'm not one to be completely opposed to skirts or connie kits on certain cars...

In fact, I actually LIKE skirts on lots of cars from the '40's, 50's and '60's. The 1965 MoPaR "C" bodies come to mind.

I just think that the skirts look TOTALLY wrong on this car. Remedied easily enough though.

Gene, that's a great car, how much has it made, so far on, eBay?

My first thought exactly! Remove the skirts and this car would look much better.

Looks like a strictly "Buy It Now" sale, Paul with the seller asking US$13,900. This appears to be..

the only older car in this dealer's inventory with most of the rest being pretty ordinary late model stuff. Here's a link to the auction where you can see a few more photos, including extensive shots of the very solid undercarriage.

link

Nowhere near show quality, fer sure, but looking more like a 10 year old used car rather than one approaching 50.

I've no clue on the Dodge market, but when compared to 64 Chevys, this looks like a steal!
