PICs - Daily Dose of Diecast...Thursday 1955 Pontiac Star Chief Convertible
Issued by Tinder Box/Franklin Mint in 2003. It was a Limited Edition of 1000 pieces, mine is #834. The model is finished in Beaumont Blue & Marietta Blue.

OMG....2003? It seems like it was yesterday when this was introduced.

Does anyone have the driver side chrome fender skirt for this car, or a car for parts, mine has been missing for quite some time...

Mine is number 515 and in opening the trunk to view the number the upside down V on the trunk came off and in trying to replace it the Indian head came off the hood. All now back in place with no glue but the dangers of playing with our little cars is real.

There's always a flashback with this model when it comes up.

WHY? Well .... back when it was released I came home from work to find an "ATTEMPT DELIVERY NOTICE" on my front door. it was about 8 at night. The next morning I called them and asked how to get the model. I was told I could reschedule it for "tomorrow" , could pick it up at the UPS Depot in Sunnyside (I think that's the area). SO I found out what their hours were and went right after work in the heavy rain to pick it up. WHY? I didn't want to wait another day as I used to get so excited to check out each and every new model as fast as I could! Times have changed and while I still love diecast and models IF a model arrives and I have to reschedule it I do and wait. Sometimes models are sent to Moms house and they call to let me know its there. I will wait a day or two to pick it up. Not sure WHY, but I don't have that Christmas morning excitement any more. That goes for most things actually! I actually really like this model BTW

I have the turquoise coupe. The '55 Pontiac always reminds me of I Love Lucy.
