PICS: FM 1949 Cadillac Coupe de Ville
Snagged this Madeira Maroon beauty for <$100. Excellent condition in box w/papers & hangtag. Had to have it to complete the trio. Hope these pics look ok. I have a crappy iPhone 5S camera and was using a new Windows 10 resizing tool.

Terrific trio J.D. Love the pictures.
Nice trio of '49 Cadillacs. They are some of my favorite models.

I've always liked this model from FM. A word of warning - don't pick them up by the top. It comes off . . . easily.
Wow, great trio. I only have the blue version. Looking forward to the NEO 1/24 of this one.
I'm glad that you got a good one....
...mine has come sown with a bad case of rash/rot.
Right, Frank. Actually that's wise advice for picking up any model.
Is the 1:24 Neo a certainty or just a rumor?
Yes, some of these had paint issues. Mine is pristine, though.
I suspect the problem may have been with the earlier models. The underside of the roof was especially prone to bad flaking on some editions I've seen offered for sale on that other auction site. I would assume that mine was made near the end of the run as it is number 9545 of 10,000 and FM may have corrected any problems by that time. Hopefully.
This trio of Caddy's by FM were probably the most riddled of any 1:24 die-cast with paint issues and and quality control issues.
I actually had two different examples of the blue one and both literally had parts falling off of it when they arrived. Both were returned with no reorder.
The maroon one had serious paint issues inside and out, and parts falling of the car. It too, was returned.
Finally ended up getting the green one, but it also is not perfect. The left front fender sits very high over the wheel well, while the right side is as it should be. Thus, the car sits crooked.
Truth is this was one of FM's big flops!

It is certain but I could not get a release date from American Excellence.
I only noticed taking these pics that the green one, indeed, does not sit right.
I display it sideways in a case so the flaw is not noticeable. The '49 Caddy is my all-time favorite car so I'll take the FM ones, flaws and all.
