PICS: My WISH LIST 1:24 die-cast car #10 1956 OLDSMOBILE

From the open-mouth grille to the bullet taillights, the side-trim, spinner hubcaps, to the dashboard that was was royal and Jukebox looking, my eyes pop wide-open every time I see one. The great two-tone paint combinations are a standout at any car show.

For General Motors '56 step-ladder of cars, the Oldsmobile right in the middle, was a star looker!

Thing about an Oldsmobile is that, even if one wasn't really fond of them, they exemplified 1950's style with all the style Detroit gave us.

The die-cast mints would have sold out quickly with one of these!

I'll sign up. And make it that car in the first photo - love the colors.

I would gladly be a buyer in 1/24 scale. In the meantime I am thrilled to have the image in 1/43.

Hey Bob Jackman, if I'm not mistaken, didn't Franklin Mint release a '56

Oldsmobile convertible as part of set of 1:43 scale cars? And I believe there was a wall display case that was part of the series.

Yes George FM did release a 1/43 scale but it was the Starfire convertible rather than the Holiday hardtop. The FM model had opening doors and the shut lines were too big and ruined the model in my opinion. Motor City did both the Holiday and Starfire
and both are gems although quite pricey.

Her name is Miss Fisher. She has quite a body. And she loves to drive her merry Oldsmobile,

Yes, a '56 Olds 1:24 model would have been great. And very merry, too.

Thanks Bob! After I asked you the question I went to the "Car List & Reviews" but didn't see an Oldsmobile listed. So then I questioned my memory, but you've assured me that I wasn't wrong.
