1955 was a big year for automobiles (and for rock 'n roll) and Oldsmobile had a beautiful Super 88 convertible. My family had a coral and grey 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air coupe and a Pontiac 2 two-tone blue sedan. I also would been delighted if we had a '55 Oldsmobile as it is such a gorgeous car.
This 1/24 diecast model was done really nicely by Welly many years ago and I also have one of their 1955 Olds convertibles in black done in 1/18 scale.
great pics Mike. DMs 55 Olds convertible was one of my first DMs
It makes a wonderful subject for a diecast model automobile in 1/24 or any scale and the Danbury Mint edition, as well as the Welly version, are an excellent addition to any collection. It is a really good looking car and model.
Mike, great pics, thanks for posting.
The 1955 Oldsmobile Super 88 is a beautiful car. A neighbor bought a new Black and White 2dr Holiday with a Red interior. I loved that car. I have two DM offerings, the Red and White Convertible and the Coral and Cream 2dr Holiday. I acquired the Holiday, which btw was a pre-production prototype, via the D4C Auction. It was shipped from Maryville, TN. Any guesses who the seller might have been?

Absolutely beautiful model Mike. I don't have any of the '55 Oldsmobiles.😥
I don't know who the judge was that gave that young lady a 2 but IMO she looks like a 10.
The '55 is my favorite of the '54 thru '56 use of this body.

LOL Mr. Jackman, you have the same 20/20 vision I do for that young lady. My question is, is there a car in the photo with her?

@bob-jackman Bob and George...my pressing concern here is how can a woman be a ten if she is a 1:24?
She's a 1/24th with a footprint larger than the Oldsmobile's!@bob-jackman Bob and George...my pressing concern here is how can a woman be a ten if she is a 1:24?
