PICS - On the road again...

I've seen some pretty large rigs on the road, but I don't think never this big. It has two tractors, one front and rear. I believe the rear tractor is more for engine braking.

Great stuff, Marlowe, both the previous post and this one.

That trucking outfit is called "Bigge" !!, that's a riot.

PICS (1:1) Another great set of "moving" pictures, Marlowe. Love the hot rods, the B400.........

the Caddie and the ultra-heavy hauler. Since my brother already commented on the trucking company's name, I'll use this as an excuse to post some pix of these big Pacifics operated by South African Railways & Harbours. The standard truck has 500 h.p. and the Ultra-Pacifics have 800!

The Pacific Truck company was founded in Vancouver, B.C., Canada in 1947 by a group of former employees of the Hayes company. The first Pacifics were built for logging the big trees of the Northwest. These monsters were designed and built in the early 1980's to handle much heavier loads.

A 1982 Pacific P12W3 - 500 h.p.

Three pullin' and one pushin' a 299 ton steam generator for the Matimba Power Station.

That's an 800 h.p. Ultra on the head end.

Workin' hard and makin' smoke on a slight upgrade......
