Here's another older tech '50s model. This is the Pontiac Bonneville Fuel Injected convertible optioned out to the max. It's a decent image for its age by TFM.

Very nice model.  Imo, it's one of FM's better efforts.  I was fortunate to find one several years ago new in box at a good price.  Soon after, of course, I had to get the Caribe Coral version to go with it.  I like the chrome-heavy '57 Pontiac.  It's bold and rugged looking.  A man's car.

I've got the Coral version. Cool model. I barely remember one of my elementary school friend's parents had a four door hard top. I was like 5 or 6 years old, but thought it was such a cool-looking car!

I've got the early version of this car with the hidden door hinges.  I think this was the first image TFM made using the new hinge technology.  Unfortunately the door to front fender gap is pretty large and the doors don't always want to stay tightly closed.  I guess that's why they retooled it with the dog leg style hinges.  All-in-all a nicely done model and also one of the first without the headlight "dots".

Pete you beat me to it!  I have the early version with “real” hidden hinges and while the doors articulate in a more realistic way, the gaps are terrible as you pointed out.  Overall though it’s a very nice model.  I later added the Tinderbox LE in coral to my fleet.  Nice models IMO

I've got mixed feelings on the FM '57 Pontiac.  I was excited when it came out and I saw it at the FM store at the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN.  I was excited to get the model, but have never felt it was one of FM's best efforts.  The rather noticeable gaps between doors and the front fenders are a huge distraction.  Bottom line though, I'm glad I have the model.  I also have the Coral repaint.
