Probably 20 years ago (yikes!) I purchased this AMT 1958 Edsel Pacer kit from KB Toys in the Las Vegas Outlet Mall.  I probably bought it because of the price, less than six bucks, as I haven't built plastic model kits in years.  The body came pre-painted, as well as the other parts, and I just liked the way it looked, figuring that one day I might build it. Well, that day finally came.

The only changes I made to the kit were using bare metal foil over the silver-painted trim, flocking the interior carpeting, making a replacement antenna out of a straight pin, and polishing out the paint.  Other than that, right of the box.

The parts were all pre-painted and in their own pre-numbered packaging, which made assembly straight forward and simple.  After all, the box said it was skill level 2 for age 10+!

I was impressed with the engine detail.  There were rocker arms under the valve covers!

Even though it's 1/25th scale, it's the same length as DM's Edsel wagon and displays very well with it.

So guys, pick up a kit and start building!  Enjoy!

Pete that is brilliant. I spotted one of these ages ago, watchlisted it then forgot about it. I'm going to try and track one down again now. Would sit nicely between DMs wagon and FMs convertible. thanks

A fine job on this beauty ! It looks great and certainly makes a wonderful addition to any Fifties American automobile collection.

I have a YM 1/18 in very much this color scheme and it is a favorite.
