This one is only 1,000 pieces so It may be possible besides what business is it of ours it's really a matter between Seller and Bidder. Were it to be sold out then it could command additional dollars. Suppose you were selling yours and someone defeated the auction purpose? I'm sure you would upset. Peace Gentlemen! Doug Ford is a respected member here.

Learning Process:

I guess I figured-out how to use the danbury website. Initially, when I was searching, I was clicking on "classic cars" at the far left & the 1941 Cadillac didn't show as available. So I assumed that they were available to Preview Society members only. Now that I used the item number in the search field, it showed up as available on December 10th. Oh well, lesson learned.
I'm really doing this because I enjoy these cars but at the same time, not get carried away.
Thanks all
Will

Doug even if its not discontinued, its currently not available

That said there ARE plenty of collectors who have deep pockets and WILL pay a premium as NOT to wait for it to come back in stock. If I were you I would have left the auction as it were and simple NOT use the word discontinued. List it as it is an LE of 1,000 that's currently "unavailable" or NOT even mention anything! Its not a rip off or otherwise. The same goes for people constantly bitching about Legacys "inflated" or greedy or whatever words i've seen used "mark up" on currently available DM models. As is known DM doesnt discount their models to ANYONE! Legacy pays full price so why should they lay out money, tie it up to break even? Anytime anyone provides a service of any type there is a CHARGE for it. I'm not so sure why this seems to irk people? Your a gentleman Doug and I dont think it's anyones business what you want for a model or what anyone sells a model for. Dougs always a great guy and contributes alot here, not fair to be called out for something like this.

Don't feel bad, I was called "Captian Greedy" when I posted here that I "won" three FM auctions for the White 1956 Mark II lincolns that I couldnt get because I got bumped from their proverbial "list" after i was promised one at $195 retail. I later won three auctions, $430-$550. I later sold one of them on Ebay for $1195 YES that is correct someone whom wanted it badly paid that amount! It was FMs game, I played by the rules, got my white Mark II FREE in the end after selling the two "extras" It was a gamble on my end HOPING i'd be able to sell them for over the $485 the three averaged me. I would have been happy selling the two JUST for a profit that would have netted my keeper to cost $195. That was what my goal was. In the end I ended up getting the keeper FREE and about $30 to spare! I was called out on this, all kinds of names etc.. Guess what? The big mouth that did this whom claimed to be such an avid collector has LONG disappeared from D4C!!

Thank you Phil. You are a gentleman also. I will relist the Caddy in a few weeks when the dust settles. And you are right if you play by the rules what business is it of anybodys if someone is to ask $1000.00 for a $120.00 car. Good for you on the Lincolns. I wish I was able to do that at the time. Candice Mcnulty was able to find one for me.

It's just jealously and envy, Doug. Don't let it worry you.

You said it is DISCONTINUED WHEN IT IS NOT.........

check your sources before saying so. As for your right to ask ON THIS AUCTION SITE three hundred bucks for a model that sells half the price from DM, it is ridiculous but you are entitle to ask any price you want and I really don't care.

This is my last comment on the subject.

Than I was mistaken. You could just say "Doug, you made a mistake" instead of calling me a rip off.

I have never had any trouble with you Richard as I usually stay clear of your argumentative posts as I will continue to do. I don't know what got your panties in a bunch but chill out.

Let's see, how about the FM white 56 Mark II, the Panther pink Challengers, just to name a couple. I guess you didn't know about these. I thought you knew EVERYTHING Richard!!!
